His hotel was on the other side of the tape. If he’s not lying, he simply walked around the block to get closer to his hotel

The street closure ended at 4:15, people were walking down Tchop. a little after 3, and the Renaissance has a side maintenance entrance I've seen them let guests use during Mardi Gras
