I almost feel sorry for the A/C

Wife asked if we should raise the thermostat a few degrees to keep the A/C from working so hard.
Told her hell no.
Points on standby for a hotel room if it melts down.

I just paid your wife 28001 to suck her toes. You’re welcome

Holy shite. My condolences.
I'd consider a couple of mini splits.
We keep a portable and window a/c for hurricanes etc. and would use those to limp along if necessary.

It’s going to get worse before it gets better.

Ours is on its last leg right now. The guy is looking at it right now actually. I’m sure it’s gonna need to be replaced. Because why not?

What kind of insurance covers an AC replacement? Some kind of warranty?

Ours is new. And massive. Still can’t get it to 71 in the house. It’s just not happening. 74 is it. So we turned it up to 74.
Cut it down to 71 after the sun goes down. By the time I shower for work the next morning it’s getting it’s rest.

Curious too. Never heard of that (other than the warranty of course) but that is a warranty, not insurance.

Here's a plan:
Next time your WIFE brings up that subject, just nod in agreement. As soon as the temps rise up noticeably, casually bring up old Nelly's song. My thought is that most WIVES will quickly cranck the AC back down.
It's gettin hot!

My piece of shite 4 year old Trane has already frozen up once and had 2 service calls this week only for them to tell me they can't find anything wrong with it.

This is where you need a 2 stage unit. Ours only uses 1 stage until it gets above ~93 outside and then the additional 3 tons kicks on and the fan speeds up to move more air.
