You have a very light combustible gas and he appears to be using an air hose to blow debris away. I imagine a static charge created by the high velocity air was the ignition source. Not exactly common knowledge unless you are very well trained and experienced. Sad to see. They give these guys minimal training, rightey tightey, lefty loosey, and turn them loose. I spent 40 years in a refinery/chemical plant before retiring and I can tell you it's sad how far the level of expertise in the maintenance crafts has fallen off.

That kinda reminds me of the time a guy was working on a nuclear reactor and was killed when a rod blew out and impaled him.

Possibly. I was referring to industrial accidents in general.
Most accidents regardless of location are caused by human error. Investigators can find out if there's proper training or not. In our legal environment it's just easy to hold those with money partially responsible.

Looks like his entire charred body falls over the rail in the very back far left right at the end of the video. I think most of the shite falling are parts of the ceiling—besides his helmet.

That is why I was confused I thought that was pieces from the ceiling falling down. I thought the guy was blown away by the explosion farther then that.

Y'all know this ole baw is full of shite. He's talking that "nothing but a paycheck" shite now, but on a hot July day in 1987, ole baw rolled into Giardo, Giardo, and Spinx, with his neck brace snuggling his rosy cheeks and $ in his head.
Then, he got the ole line about wc being the sole remedy in the course and scope shite. However, 6 months chilling at the house, 8 months doing remedial work in the mail room, and 30 years later, and this ole baw has turned it into "I'm too much of a man to get the big bucks."
