These back-to-back storms is backed by Lowe's and Home Depot for people like me who just return their new generators for the 30-day free return. Got 11 days left.

I know i know subject to change being a littlle over a week away but man the GFS would be a near miss for Louisiana with it's hard NE turn

It looks like there is a very weak s/w in the flow that turns it NE before it finally gets picked up by the trough.

The GFS has it landing near MS, AL border as a Cat 2 and going NE and into western N. Carolina. Those people don’t need that.

It’s all about timing. A slower moving storm should be picked up by the trough, a faster moving storm could move more North and not as far east with no trough.

Western Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico:
An area of low pressure is expected to form over the western
Caribbean Sea in a couple of days. Environmental conditions are
forecast to be conducive for gradual development thereafter, and a
tropical depression could form around the middle part of next week.
This system is expected to move northwestward into the Gulf of
Mexico during the latter portion of next week, and interests in the
northwestern Caribbean Sea and along the U.S. Gulf Coast should
monitor its progress.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...50 percent.

Looks like I'm either taking off work to make a gumbo or because of a hurricane

We're leaving from Lafayette on Sunday, Oct 6 to take the kids to Disney World. This is definitely going to throw a wrench in these plans.

Damn. I’m glad those two aren’t switched.

Now THAT is a hurricane
it’s easy to admire them when no one is impacted.
