69 mph is the highest sustained and 102 mph the highest gust.

I feel like Tampa and st Pete have been absolutely hammered with rain just looking at the radar the last few hours

Seems to be the case with all weakening storms at landfall.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Tampa, St Pete area were spared the surge but the alternative might be just as destructive

Winds are not consistent in a storm. The HH hunters could hit spots the on land stations do not.
Plus timing… winds are decreasing with this one.

at first I thought it was a transformer blowing up until I saw it over the tree line — been going on for the last hour or so. I thought lightning during hurricanes was abnormal—it’s honestly unnerving,
As long as you don’t hear the bullhorn then it’s likely just a substation arc’ing like crazy.
Similar thing happened near NYC few years back.

Seems to be a theme this year. Wind / surge underperforms and rain overperforms

Can confirm — it’s been pouring for hours — and weird lightning with thuds — not typical sounding

Mike Bettes in the winds on the weather channel saying "you may say it's just a Cat 1 or Cat 2 but THIS IS WHAT A HURRICANE CAN DO!!!"
5 minutes after he said he hasn't seen any structural damage, just some tree limbs

They got 5 inches in an hour. Was a 1/1000 year rain event

This is what happens when all we have as evidence are computer models.
Garbage in. Garbage out.

Yep. By all accounts this storm fizzled out before it hit Florida. TWC is trying to keep people tuned in to their propaganda.

You’re watching though. Mission accomplished.

There have been 1 or 2 stations reporting hurricane sustained winds but the point still stands.
