I don't remember the last time, if ever, that I saw a storm form an inner core and clear it out so quickly. Compact storms like this can RI more easily it seems and I think this may be happening. Would be shocked now if it doesn't make it to hurricane strength, even if intensity fluctuates before landfall.

Checking the velocities out of the key West radar, they're spiking. Was catching 50 kts on the early frames to like 75-80 kts on the later ones.
Obviously that far away those numbers are off the ground and probably a little inflated but yeah, business is definitely picking up.

I read that Marco Island hasn't reported any winds above 25 mph so the core of this storm is very very compact and peak winds are confined to a ridiculously small area.
