True but it’s still difficult getting resources to an island, especially one that’s not even yours.
Remember the POTUS had to waive Jones Act restrictions just so Puerto Rico could receive help?

They’re going to need equipment, and housing. Who’s going to send equipment over there in the middle of Hurricane season. It’ll be months before they even start cleaning up. I assume they will get a cruise ship or two and some navy ships to house first responders, but who the hell is going to pay for all that.
The UK Navy was unloading some temporary housing today(I'm not sure how much they have) They've had ships stationed down there since June with supplies if something like this happened.
I know one of the cruise ship lines was sending a ship.

Yeah, logistics will be difficult. Is it safe to assume the UN will help foot the bill for our services?

a combination of the Bahamian government, the commonwealth and private industry, as it should be
the bahamas is a member of the commonwealth as well as an independant nation. however private american and other foreign investment there is much much higher than by that of either of those. it will get re-built but it will never be the same

It will be much easier to clean up the islands in the Bahamas than Puerto Rico for a number of reasons.
But mostly because of a much smaller population. Less population density. It’s a much smaller and narrow focused project.
It will be tough. But nothing on the magnitude of Puerto Rico.

At this rate, I'll be proven wrong on my "not going to get back to 3" by 11 pm.

Someone raised an interesting point in regards to where the debris will be sent. Wonder if they'll impound onsite or ship elsewhere. Not sure what the regulations are in regards to accepting international construction waste into he US.

I’m already getting calls for supply vessels, living quarters, containers, etc.
First question I ask is who’s paying the bills.
No one seems to know.
I’ve been through these types of events too many times domestically and abroad. I already know how this ends up. I’m done chasing storms unless it’s a US Gulf of Mexico landfall

The real reason is The Bahamas don’t anywhere near the Government corruption that Puerto Rico had.

Aren’t most things on the island either wood or cinder block? They’ll probably burn the wood and trees, crush the concrete or make reefs with it, and ship the metal (roofs, cars, etc) somewhere else to recycle.

It’s not but they still have plenty. Hand the Bahamas a check and you’d never see it again.

I know some salvaged boats and what not was brought back from Puerto Rico, but again that’s not considered a foreign country

Not sure, but I'd imagine there's plenty more to it than that. You're also looking at stuff like asbestos, lead, mercury, etc.

Yeah, f that. I'd need at least half upfront.
