Anyone who is smart comes to TD.com for their weather info during hurricanes. The few weather gurus on here give you more accurate info, and do it much quicker than anywhere else (thanks guys).

So, would getting a hurricane board be possible, just for the season (kind of like the coaching changes board).

I even have a few ideas for it, if its even possible. Hurricane threads, let's say are 20 pages long (made up number), 10 pages are usually weather guys dropping knowledge, 5 pages are people saying "I'm leaving for X on X date. Should I cancel?" and 5 pages are PJ screwing up the thread.

So can we:

- make a thread where only the experts can post in, to keep everything together and on topic.

- make a thread for the travelers, and let the weather gurus drop in when they can to answer.

- Ban PJ from posting on the hurricane board.

I am sure when one appears to threaten LA, this domain will be made active

I felt like the hurricane threads did pretty well when everyone just posted in the same thread.

I understand we want to hear from our more expert posters, but it isn't like we're having to go through 500 pages of garbage to get to that 1 expert post.

There needs to be a perma-stickied "In Memoriam" thread for the Blue Shed.

Can you please just say it’s going to be the worst storm we’ve ever seen this early? Really looking to have a nice weekend.

When its a hurricane that may possibly threaten the Gulf, they usually turn into really large threads and its hard to keep up sometimes. You can have weather info on page 20, and then 30 minutes later the thread is on page 32 just because PJ decided to come screw up the thread. So you could have 12 pages between legit updates.

How about a weather board instead of just hurricanes?

Yes, and this is your one post.

FACT... We have ZERO clue where this thing may go....

You didn't quite get the attention you crave in this thread, because its just a rain event and its just the preseason. You derail the shite out of threads with your nonsense.

Why do we need a board about an alcoholic beverage?

Would probably be pretty dead outside of hurricane season. Probably would have had a little more action with the freeze this year. I don't think its a full time needed board. Just for major events, would be nice to have.

It just came to me when I woke up this morning and checked the weather thread. I think my greatest idea is keeping PJ out honestly.

I'm not Einstien or anything, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Generally the OP will do a good job of updating the original post.

Also have we not had a weather board when something big was threatening?

Maybe what I am thinking of is that during Harvey there were separate threads for different things to try to keep out some of the clutter.

Apropos of nothing, but I would make an argument that all of the hurricane web-talk originated with the comments section of WWL-TV's site, dating maybe back to well before Katrina. I recall the novelty of being able to interface with the TV weather guys, as well as the knowledge gained and shown by the public. Now every TV station worth their salt has their weather guys doing an off-'cast Livecast on FB, but back then, it was something new...

FIFY... when I included the https:// in front of the above it seemed to lead me to an actual page that is currently blocked so this may be the actual domain
