Well done!

It's nice to see that not everybody is a piece of shite these days.

He lost his cool

It appears both the girl and the officer were in the wrong here.

I'm pretty sure their actions make them social activists, even if you have your panties in a bundle because they were giggling on video.

Excuse me for thinking the black kids in the video who are laughing with their friends aren't "social activists" I can read between the lines. High schoolers are immature for the most part. They'll use any excuse to skip class. Am I saying that all these kids are using that as an excuse? No. But I guarantee you there's more than not.

They didn't tear up enough shite to satify the standard for the "protestor" label these days?

It's adorable how you're trying to have a GOTCHA moment by bringing up these irrelevant "protests" from the Michael Brown/Eric Garner stuff. Do you have a dindunuffin meme to send me also?

quote:

And I suppose you believe the posters are the first few pages of the original thread who claimed this girl was a "welfare queen" and laughing at the notion of her parents punishing her didn't bring race into this? Please

I'll gladly claim to be a "bootlicker" when the situation calls for it. For instance, when a thug like Mike Brown reaches for a cop's piece and pays the price for it.

But that's not what we have here. We have a roidhead cop, who has previous complaints/lawsuits unrelated to this, kicking a 16 year old's arse because she was being a brat. I'm sorry I'm not upset he's out of a job. I'm not the one who fired him. Be mad at his boss.

Or he was tired of dealing with kids who have no respect for authority when they ask them to do something as simple as put away a phone during instruction. We need better training for officers in school on how to handle those situations but in that same light we need to address how discipline is handled in schools. Especially when it comes to tying the hands of teachers and administrators.

It appears both the girl and the officer were in the wrong here.

Agreed. But unless you're completely shitting on the cop, to acknowledge that apparently makes you a bootlicking racist to some.

The sad thing is, you have people painting it with a racial brush when the reality is students with discipline issues (and how they're handled) isn't specifically a racial issue. But people want to make it about race instead of address the root causes.

yeah well you can't kick their arse. That's why he was fired.

Letting the little shite be and continue on her path of self destruction would've been better for both parties. But now she's gonna get paid AND attention. Not to mention another thing to point at for the annoying arse SJW

You can't discern the difference between the appropriateness of a peaceful protest vs. a student who couldn't follow the directions of not one, not two, but three authoritative figures in her school (not appropriate).

But by all means, keep throwing out generalizations because I called you out. That doesn't make me a bootlicker, racist, or whatever other bullshite you want to throw out at me personally because that's apparently the only defense you have at this point.

He shouldnt be a cop if he can let his emotions get the best of him when dealing with such small issue.

Maybe for the cop and the student. But unfortunately "letting her be" puts the teacher and administration in a position where they can lose their jobs for not "engaging" her in the classroom. It's called rigor. And they will ding you for it on a state audit that determines if you keep your job if your test scores are low enough.

It's not this completely simple solution as you paint it to be.

Then he shouldn't be a police officer. Simple as that

Bringing the officer in just escalated the situation. Teachers are better equipped to deal with these situations than officers. If they can't, they're probably in the wrong profession as well.

Please You were desperate to have a GOTCHA! moment by bringing up looters from the Michael Brown bs. Like Sao said, you're being extremely obtuse

In a non-alternative public school where a lot of districts have started practicing "restorative teachering" where it's essentially a slap on the wrist for any negative behavior from a kid and pushed back into the classroom?

Our teachers today are the least equipped they've ever been in dealing with discipline issues IMO. And that's not because they're bad teachers either.

Yes actually. What would you call a student who continues to play on their phone during instruction and asked by multiple staff to not do so?

I could just as well say she would've learned that she could do whatever she wants without consequence if it wasn't addressed. Is either solution better?

You mean y'all are looking for your race baiting GOTCHA moment by mentioning this girl's race and calling anyone who doesn't call for the cop's heads bootlickers instead of addressing the growing disciplinary issues in schools that are leading to attacks on teachers and jumpy SROs?

You don't call being expelled a consequence? You honestly think neck/back injuries and an arm in a cast was the only way she was going to learn her lesson?

I suspect the officer was brought in a the LAST line of authority, not the first.

quote:

Teachers are better equipped to deal with these situations than officers

1. The was an officer at that school for a reason just as there are at numerous public schools across the country. If the teachers are the ones best equipped to handle situations like this, then there would be no need for officers.

2. From all indications, the teachers and other administrators attempted to handle the situation without a physical confrontation. Clearly their efforts were in vain. But hey, maybe should would had decided to listen to them on the 50th time they asked her to leave, who knows?

3. I'm certain that pulling this worthless POS out of the desk was the LAST attempt to get her to follow instructions, not the first. ALL of this could have been avoided by the student. She clearly decided she was not going to listen to what any authority figure was instructing her to do. There comes a point in time where you've had every chance to avoid a physical confrontation. Once you've chosen not to, I don't give a flying frick what happens to you after that.

The kids at the school know the "victim" far better than anyone here. The fact that at least some number of them decided to do something to show their support for the cop tells you that they felt this degenerate got what was coming to her. Somehow I doubt this was that student's first instance of disobedience

I was countering your point that the only result to her behavior being addressed at the moment it occurred instead of after class is an assault by a cop. I've said multiple times the force was excessive and that we need training for SROs in schools on how to handle those issues (because they will come across them). Firing them when it does occur and not addressing the root cause does absolutely nothing.

A lot of districts don't expel students anymore. And the ones that do typically don't unless the student assaults someone, brings in a weapon, etc.

Don't be so obtuse, GC.

Stop being so melodramatic to try to drive home your point. I never said that.

If this cop just drags her desk out into the hall, then he can beat the snot out of the little thug POS and none of the other little baby gangsters can film it.

That's where he screwed up.

I love how a teenager being defiant at school now makes them a worthless POS. Oh my god a teenager defying authority.I bet 90% of the people on here defied authority at some point in high school by doing something on par with this petty action. Some of yall need to take a step back.

Then, it is. Classroom mgmt is a huge part of teaching.
