If there was a 'Great Flood'... was the flood freshwater or saltwater?

Homeostasis is a tricky thing... freshwater aquatic life and saltwater aquatic life have completely different systems to regulate the water balance in their bodies vs. the environment. Very few animals have adapted to live in both, but most cannot survive... even in brackish water.

So you admit that there was a flood, you're just trying to sort out the details. Well there's some fascinating science books on the subject if you have the curiosity and an open mind.

Do those science books have man walking with dinosaurs?

Or that the earth is only a few thousand years old?

Or that the earth is the center of the universe and that we are the God's only children in the entire universe?

Addendum: I never said that I accepted that the floor was real...

Gandalf was much older than that. He was a Maiar previously known as Olorin when he lived in Valinor. 2000 years is just when the counting of Middle Earth began.

Sounds like you've got it all figured out. That's why I said the part about the open mind.

I read between the lines, it was pretty obvious that you want to believe but something is holding you back. Whenever you're ready to learn the truth, we'll be ready for you.

Maybe there was a huge localized flood..

But considering it was just a few thousand years ago that it happened, if it truly "flooded the entire earth" then we'd be able to see the aftermath it left behind. And you don't

It rained a lot this weekend. All that water is gone now. There's no aftermath so I guess it never happened?

You can't argue with these kind of people Lucas. They were brought up to believe a certain thing and no amount of science is going to convince them they're wrong

First, quite the opposite... most scientific data and research are all about having 'an open mind'. The scientific method is constantly trying to disprove a hypothesis. Through the scientific method, we are always modifying and improving or discarding a hypothesis. Thus, having 'an open mind' is essential to interpret data.

Second.... however, if someone totally disregard facts and data and proclaimed something a fact because 'the Bible said so, and the Bible is the word of God!'... that's the exact opposite from 'an open mind'.

Third, faith and knowledge are two different disciplines. Believing in one does not negate the other. Thus, I can still believe in God and dinosaurs with no conflict.

Your OP is vague and terribly done.

The point of the article is cool and you fricked it up.

Adult people don't live a 30 years long than they did in the 20's, there was just a MUCH higher infant mortality rate back then which dramatically skews the numbers.

So you and me are saying the same thing then. Good for you man, welcome to the fold. Glad you were able to open your heart. Doesn't it feel good?

Yeah his post did not address the article whatsoever. And although the infant mortality rates may have skewed the data, that doesn't mean life expectancy for adults hasn't improved significantly, it just may not be as dramatic as believed given the changes to the distribution. That said, infant mortality and a measure of central tendency are important to include.

I can't tell if Rex was trolling or not.

I don't see any problem with that? I'm a huge supporter of the scientific method. The "hypothesis" is that God's word is the truth and the "evidence" is His Son up on that cross. So if He tells me the world was flooded, then the world was flooded.
Interpret that data, genius

Easy there on the judgement, it got us through a work day. Post another misleading thread tomorrow and we'll try and do better. But if this is the shite you're giving for material then don't expect Mr Show, be happy with Mad TV.

Are you thinking that contradicts anything I said?
