Well yeah, the English brought hockey from the Indians to the new world

I think you mean it was stolen by the imperialist bastards.

I call b.s. Fred Flinstone seemed live a fairly prosperous life, even by today’s standards.

I hate that British people don’t brush their teeth.

Boomerang, a-hole.

How did civilization continue with so few OT ballers?

Fred flintstone lived a prosperous life because he coached the university of Michigan football team

They overpaid Flinstone for not winning anything substantial too.

Just think. Even our “poor” people today can eat better than the kings of old.
We have a sumptuous banquet set out for us with all the creature comforts and delights that are readily at our fingertips.
Few of us know such strife and hardship of the old times.
These are the halcyon days of humanity.
The brief bright glimpse of decadence before the coming dark, where fire and steel and lead will reign.

Apart from some technical gadgets, he and George Jetson had pretty similar lifestyles. OP's premise is clearly without merit.

Anyway, I see things mostly the way fr33 does. Maybe another couple of decades of decent life, then lights out.

You can thank the Founding Fathers for unleashing the power of free market capitalism and democracy allowing for unleashing the power of the individual. The resulting industrial revolutions in America and Europe has brought wealth and comfort never thought possible and is spreading to even the most impoverished areas of the world

It's pretty obvious from the graphs you posted that real prosperity started just after the Federal Reserve Act was passed in the United States.

The Industrial Revolution was well underway when the Founding Fathers did their thing.

Currency didn’t really take off until the Renaissance era. Land was the main determinant of wealth so I don’t know how you measure this

Energy consumption is usually the standard for quality of life studies. So a king who has 1000 servants back in the day has an extremely high quality of life when you consider that all their labor (energy) is essentially being consumed by him. It’s not perfect but is still extremely useful

That looks like how HG Wells had things figured out.
