I am 53. If they heard the crap my coaches told us, they would pass straight out. We had a football coach pick a kid up by his love handle fat roll. Off the damn ground. You had a room full of kids used to getting yelled at and cussed....even we went 'damn'

I don't think his message was to fat shame kids. He was using that as an example of how everyone blames something else, no one has personal responsibility. He is trying to get them to do their work because that is something that is on them. The way to break those cycles of crime and poverty is right in front of them, and they refuse it because it takes effort. Not saying he did it the right way, but I understand what he was trying to do. Unfortunately, today it is taboo to say people are themselves to blame for being fat, poor, lazy, etc.

He isn’t wrong. Only in rare cases is it due to a medical issue like thyroid, and that can be corrected.
98% of fat people is due to bad diet or lack of exercise. Or both. Genetics plays a role only in whether it’s easier to stay skinny or not. It is harder for some people. But not impossible

We just elected a white Republican mayor.
His message wasn’t about being fat, it was about his class not being responsible. He says in the video that all you have to do to pass his class is turn in your work, yet half the class is failing. Then he says that 5 minutes ago, nobody in the class paid him any attention while he taught, but when he drops a couple f-bombs, EVERYBODY paid attention. It’s abundantly clear that he had enough with their disrespect and he lost his shite on them. I’m sure he’ll get fired, but he’ll probably be better off in the long run.

The a High Sxhool he teaches at is trashy. You meet them where they are at. Examples aren’t workings. Go sit in a HS class for week and get back to us.
