I think your post is confusing/mixing wealth and salary too much

That's true. I went off of historical averages.

I need less than 30k to live better than 90% of the people on planet earth. Stop living where it's expensive and stop caring what others think about you.

Well, wealthy enough to be able to pay for said "certain things".

Yeah, that’s why I noted nuance. It depends heavily on liquidity events, if you’re still involved in the genesis of the wealth in the first place or not, and a lot of other factors. This is a general guide of what you can do at these income levels. Once you eclipse $100mm, then salary is irrelevant. Much more relevant before that.

I would think most of the people on this board don't know what a family office is, why it would exist, or the general risks associated with it.

Tried to keep this simple and an OT post, if we want to debate the family office, that may be more of a MT post

$1,000,000 - $7,500,000 - The differences as we go up in this category are subtle, but they exist. We’re getting into more exclusive neighborhoods, private schools, luxury cars, luxury vacations, entertainment, designer clothes, first class flights, nice boat and maybe even a small used single prop plane (Cessna 4-seater or something similar). We’re joining country clubs, exclusive social clubs, and are entering the socialite scene.

We talking net worth or annual income?

My household net worth is between 1.5-2 mil and we can’t afford all that shite

You need over $7.5mm to have $1mm plus in a primary residence and $1mm plus in a vacation home, yes.

But you could be in the 1-2 million range and have a 300k primary and 300k condo somewhere

Butt stuff is classless and doesn't care if poor or rich. It is available to all... if you play your cards right. Or if in prison, play them wrong.

People put to much importance than money.. have some is great but I’d rather have piece of mind and happiness.

Whatever my house is at $150k - $250k, I would not upgrade if I went to $250k - $500k. I am not going to increase my expenses just because I can.

How many people in this country are putting 5-20 bucks in gas at a time in their vehicles vs filling them up without concern for the cost?
