I feel dumb for checking, I didn't even know what Ashley Madison was until all of this came out.
But I'm clean.
Not that I've ever been married, but I have to say I checked just to make sure I didn't register drunk one night in college or whatever.

I have to say, out of curiousness, I'm reading about some of these deep web services where you can buy and sell illegal products, and I found this line about Silk Road amusing:
Oh well, at least they're classy.
quote:
In March 2013, the site had 10,000 products for sale by vendors, 70% of which were drugs.[19][61] In October 2014, there were 13,756 listings for drugs, grouped under the headings stimulants, psychedelics, prescription, precursors, other, opioids, ecstasy, dissociatives, cannabis and steroids/PEDs.[8][17][62][63] Fake driver's licenses were also offered for sale.[64] The site's terms of service prohibited the sale of certain items.[17] This included child pornography, stolen credit cards, assassinations, and weapons of any type; other darknet markets such as Black Market Reloaded gained user notoriety because they were not as restrictive on these items as the Silk Road incarnations were.
Oh well, at least they're classy.

Even if I wanted to download the torrent file, it's 10GB, I dont even think I have that much room on my computer....do most ordinary people have that kind of space available on their computers?
ETA: Nevermind, Im dumb...I have 500GB on my computer.
Looks like I'll be downloading it tonight.

Searched all my married buddies addresses and they all came up clean. I'm shocked.

There was another one that was better. From the Times of Israel (LINK
Right, I'm sure.
The problem for these folks is the question: Who is actually going to take the time to register someone onto Ashley Madison, say five years ago, on the off chance that the person's e-mail address is revealed as registered on Ashley Madison in a massive data hack? Who even thinks like that?

An Arab member of Knesset was seemingly caught using marital affair service Ashley Madison, after his official Parliamentary email address was among the 32 million users of the cheaters’ website whose information was stolen and released online Wednesday.
Joint List MK Taleb Abu Arar’s Knesset email, tabuarar@knesset.gov.il, was confirmed as a registered user on the Ashley Madison website, and according to a database listing what was in the dump, “the email address was confirmed by the account owner.”

He said the hacker “signed up my email in order to damage my good name, and a complaint has been filed against the site, and the site which exposed the source of the registration.”
Right, I'm sure.

I mean your question would have been relevant in 1990. A base phone today has 16GB.

Just a heads up, that could easily be a website collecting email address. Likely you're signing up for junk email there. Or they'll publish your email as someone who checked to see if their email was included.
You might as well just put yours in because you know for damn sure someone else is going to put yours in anyways!

I know, I dont what I was thinking.....after I posted that I said to myself, Wait, I think my phone has like 64GB.....then I checked my laptop and I have 500GB on it...

Definitely a risk

Meaningless really--the email being searched could be you or your spouse or a nosy person spying on you.
