How to lose a customer.

Phone call at 7 thirty PM. Shell gasoline. My wife answered and the representative of this company inquired about a late payment. She replied that she had sent a payment last month, but the check hadn't cleared. A new bill came in the mail today. This a-hole kept at her about when they would receive payment.
She handed the phone to me. "I don't know what to say"? "I told him that I had made a payment a month ago, but the check hadn't cleared".
I have been a card holder with Shell gasoline since 1979. frick them.
I have credit for cash that I have never used that greatly exceeded the amount in question. frick them.
This dipshit kept pressing me for when I would send Shell a payment for less than $200.
It will be the last time. frick them.

I didn't realize people still had gas station cards. My roommate in college had one. We used to load up on beer and gas station nachos at 1am courtesy of his dad

Sounds like when AT&T called saying we were late on our payment and threatened to shut it down by close of business and send it to collections. The computer showed one payment late, with the due date being the previous day.
We snapped, said hey a-hole, we been here since this shite was Cingular and never missed a bill. Asked for a transfer. Manager gets on, apologizes, and says that I see you have auto payment set up, our system has been malfunctioning. Please forgive us.
