stupid list, any place with a VIP room in Lafayette is not worth visiting at all. Real list for Lafayette Fancy:

1. shRed's membership
2. River Ranch/Greenbrier House
3. Expensive Car
4. Oakbourne Membership (Needs to be second generation)
5. Petroleum Club Membership (also second generation)
6. Weekly Run ins with "Sunset" at upscale dining establisments
7. Own a House or Condo in Destin/30A

does Red's count if the last time I went was 2018?

I think its fanciest to maintain a membership to a club while not actually frequenting the club

Laffy is the land of terrible fads a decade or two behind the rest of the first world

And Mich Ultra drinkers. I swear everyone in laffy drinks that garbage but I’ve never seen anyone outside of that bubble even contemplate drinking an Ultra.

Lack of Affliction and white oakleys leaves this ambiguous at best

Oakleys and Affliction isn’t a Laffy thing anymore. That’s a Broussard/Youngsville/New Iberia/Crowley thing. Confusing them with the prissy Lafayette bourgeoisie is like confusing LP/AP baws with the BR inRegister crowd.

I don't see how much of what is posted in this thread is a bad thing.

Nice house in a good neighborhood
Nice car
House/condo at the beach
Member of a nice country club

What is wrong with that? I mean Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Shreveport all have the same shite.

Guess you haven't been to many LSU and/or Saints games lately ? Ain't nothing but Mich Ultra drinkers, and they're not all from Lafayette.

Pretty much nails the Lafayette I grew up in back in the 50s & 60s ! I had a lot of great friends and had a great time. The schools were very good. But as an adult, I could never live there.

If you want to spend 99% of your income keeping up with the Joneses and raising spoiled kids, it’s awesome. If you’re single or childless, it can get boring fast.

Not really. A lot of cities have a lot of options for fun for childless adults. Lafayette isn't really geared to that kind of life style. Heck, even Baton Rouge is marginally better in that regard.

I will give you that. I was talking more about the first point you made. I have been married for 16 years with 2 kids, so I am not in the single loop.
