There’s a large sum of people that play the “keep up with the joneses” game which means going to the “elite” church. I don’t think that many people put much stock into him or his sermons as it’s more of a flex to go to the big popular church and be a “somebody” there. People are gross.

I don’t know how people believe any religious mumbo jumbo.
Jews, Protestants, Catholics, Muslims, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc. The vast majority are indoctrinated into these religions at a young age and none believe there’s any chance they’re wrong.

No. Being an admirer of him is exhausting. All you fellows hate on him and just throw out bullshite. It reminds me of when Coldplay had just released their best album which was undeniably great (Viva La Vida) and idiots were comparing them to Nickelback because it was the socially accepted view.
Osteen is the most entertaining and inspirational pastor I’ve ever seen. I’ve yet to see a legitimate criticism of him from someone who has actually watched or listened to one of his sermons. It’s just laziness and repeating what you think or what you heard.

This is what I don't really get about these pastors, such as Osteen. OK so they preach about Jesus and all of this worshipping to our Savior, etc. I mean that's perfectly fine. Jesus was humble in all senses of the word. God did not choose His Son to be born wealthy and in an extravagant lifestyle. Why then, are these pastors so hungry for money, live a luxurious lifestyle, crave the attention they get (as well as more donations), dress like GQ gentlemen and are so capitalistic in every sense of the word? Where's the humility, the humble approach, the need to give back?

There aren’t slivers of Christianity. There’s only the correct Gospel and False gospels, and we’ve been dealing with them since the very beginning. False gospels and false prophets have been around for a long time.
Judging what is correct and what is not correct is the duty of everyone. We are not to accept everyone who simply claims to represent Christ, but use scripture as our measuring stick. If it doesn’t line up with scripture, then it is not of God. There are a whole lot of itching ears, and people who scratch them in the days in which we live today. Buyer beware.

Fair point and I guess I’d say that if you hate Osteen for not being fire and brimstone that’s legit. But how many of the sanctioned “Christian” churches in America still are fire and brimstone?
