when it's been shitty for a while. Do you hang on for the chance things will Improve? Or do you let her walk and not waste your time. I'm not going to write a diary entry on here, let's just say I do the right things (work, provide, put effort into the relationship) and I'm pissing against the tide. I understand the OT could duece on this post, but all serious advice is welcome.

Do you think she's screwing around behind your back? Sounds like you're underappreciated and could do better.

3 year relationship. 1 kid (2 year old son). I don't want to hurt him and make him grow up in a broken family
ETA: unmarried, but engaged (2018)

Let her walk all over you. Whatever she wants you should give to her.

Sounds like he is already in a broken family. Sometimes it's better to rip off the band aid

We started counseling a couple months ago. I had reached my limit. She'll have both of us state our side, give the other side a chance to respond and asks if that is true, then she'll interject and state what is causing the problem. It has helped us. I told her she was being unfair and selfish, the female counceler confirmed. Sometimes it takes an outside party to inform someone just how one sided a relationship is.

I don't think she's cheating, but then again I work on towboats so I'm gone for weeks at a time. Jody the grinder?

If she's not making any effort to meet you halfway on anything, it's time to go. Might be a wake up call and she might come crawling back. How old are you..her?

If she hasn't cheated, you need to ignore and avoid everyone who says leave.
Have this conversation with her but in different terms. Have you discussed with her that the relationship has been shitty for a while?

If I had a kid with someone, I'd put in as much effort as I possibly could for the child's sake.

Yeah we've tried working it out. It just winds up causing a huge fight most of the time. Truth be told, she's a good mother and our child is the only reason I haven't broken it off
