I was pointing out the ironic part of it all is the kids that usually make it didnt have to "pay the price"
Again, these kids are in the minority. So it's irrelevant all the way around.
The criticism is for the majority who invest both time and money to no end, and at the expense of more worthwhile pursuits.

All the "big name" prospects go to these tournaments, because all the scouts are at them.
Tell your FIL if he wants to sponsor my children ill cut his grass and do his taxes

Yet you continue to repeat that kids that play baseball have zero other interests.
My kid plays baseball. He goes to church, school, hunts, fishes, soccer, plays in the neighborhood. I just don’t get your insistence that all kids do is play baseball. My son hasn’t touched a base all since the last week of June.

I just wanted to point out the irony in it all

Not every sport is tennis. You do not know everything about everything.

Im not going to be nice
100k is far greater than what is needed to make it as a college softball player

If it isnt the kid that wants it, it will be a failure no matter what at some point

Oh, and based on a recent conversation with a friend, this competitive cheer crap is who is fleecing parents.
A friend confided in me that between memberships, uniforms, private lessons, travel, competition fees and all involved, they spend close to $2,000 a month.
The average school doesn' give cheerleaders more than $500-$1000 a year in scholarships.

In T-Ball? No.
ETA: Why'd you leave out the part that made you look like a liar or a dumbass? Don't worry, I'll post it for you.

I am 48 years old, I had to have a grandpa arrested when I was umpiring a t ball game when I was 15.
Turns out he was 100% right and I was wrong, but you still dont start climbing the fence and shouting.

And those scholarships, on average, are worth much less than the family’s investment in private lessons, sports camps, and other training.
Especially if that kid is playing baseball and the parents have to spend every other weekend out of town traveling to see little Johnny.

Because everything you post makes you look like a liar or a dumbass. I was trying to bring balance to the universe. Or I just completely missed the part about t-ball. One or the other.

The travel ball scene is insane. My nephew was on a little local All-Star team that would just travel around a 2 hour radius and play in tournaments as sort of a filler team. They were good but not travel ball team good. So we're going through our stretches in the parking lot before the park opened up and this team they from Texas rolls us up being led by a F-350 pulling a custom wrapped utility trailer with the entire team on it. Craziest shite I've ever seen.

It’s not about scholarships. Not sure why so many people think that it is.
What would be better for these kids? Sitting at home playing video games?
