This sounds lame. It plays into the stereotypes of the millennials...i.e. lazy, unskilled, etc.

For those who want this because it gives you time to work on the way to work? That's a personal problem.

I enjoy controlling a vehicle, and driving on the open road. Thankfully, this won't be for me to deal with in my lifetime.

Those types of people you protest/dislike will be the ones with cars on the road, without any riders. Just their car driving in traffic. Not all the time, but it would be frequent.

I think we are continually trading freedom for safety, whether it's via the government or technology. I don't want my car communicating with shite, and I don't want to be at the mercy of some grid.

Also, the societal implications of these types of technologies are that we are going to be progressively worth less as humans, and our ability to do things to take care of ourselves will be continually diminished. The automobile has long served as the ultimate American symbol of technology and independence. Would be sad to see it go away.


I feel like this was probably said when the Model T started to make an appearance and horses started to go by the wayside
