People who are late always have more fun than people who are early.

I read an article a while back about a college study that proved the most productive people are those who are often late.

Reasoning is because people who are always early/on-time place too much value into being habitually punctual. They put off starting new projects in fear of getting caught up and being late for something else.

I can't even tell you how much time I've sat around and wasted either waiting on other people because I'm early, or just waiting on the time to pass.

If you're not at least 10 minutes early, you're late.

It's funny that it's the same slap dicks that are always late to everything. It's very inconsiderate and shows lack of respect.

Yep, there are few things that get under my skin as much as this. Hey I get that things happen sometime, but at least call and let someone know and give a approximate time you will be there. I hate being late and cannot remember the last time I was late for anything.

This makes zero sense, sounds like something crocked up by some college kid to justify their tardiness / laziness.

15 min early is on time, on time is late, late and I consider it your resignation.

I can honestly say I never run late for work. I'm always here at least 30-45 minutes early.

Never, but one night when coming home, I saw two hot young chicks running at 11:30 PM. I thought that was pretty reckless. (True story. Very weird.)

Very rarely. I tend to show up early most of the time.

Here's the article: LINK

I thought the same thing at first. But its true, we place too much value in punctuality and stress ourselves out over it. As if being on time is the most important thing in the world--sure for an interview, first date, or catching a flight... But on an every day basis, it really isn't all that big of a deal.

I am the same way. While I say I get there for 7AM, I actually give myself a 15mins window. So I get there between 6:45-7:00AM, but its usually closer to 6:45AM. Some people come in at 7, but most people start rolling in around 7:30AM so I like to get there and settle in before everyone starts coming in.. And if I am 5 mins late.. It throws my whole day off.

There are times when I will get there at 6:30AM because I can get settled in and start getting into my work, by the time people start coming in, to the point I am completely focused and I don't let them distract me.

The earlier I get there the less chance I have of getting into a conversation with something in which I spend more time talking than I need to, but my biggest distraction comes around 7:20AM. This woman who is directly on the other side of me, who works in a different department, comes in between 7:10 & 7:20AM. And from that time until 7:30 she is on the phone with someone who she tells everything going on in her life to. And she is loud so it is almost impossible to tune it out.

The guy she is married to was married once before and has two teenagers. She has no kids and this is her only marriage. Sometimes her and her husband get pissed at each other and sometimes he will not talk to her in two days, but then all of a sudden when he does want to talk, its because he wants to have sex. Awhile back she put a stop to that. So now if he is mad at her and then talks to her only when he wants sex, she doesn't give him any.

She tells him how bored she gets with sex because the only time they have sex is at night right before going to bed. It's the same thing every time. He comes to bed, kisses on her a few seconds then they have sex. If she is lucky it will last 5 mins, and when he is done, he tells her he has a long day coming up and goes right to sleep. Evidently she has toys that pleasures her more than he does. She has 3 or 4 different toys and depending on her mood depends on the one she uses. I could go on and one, but this is the shite I hear. At one point it was interesting to listen to, but now it is a distraction and just inappropriate as hell. So yeah, I try to get there and get started.. And focused before that conversation starts.
