If no rain, i do an inch per week, Bermuda, which I measure by putting a bowl out there and when it gets to an inch (usually 40 minutes) that’s all the water it gets.

Metro ATL here, I’ve only had to water it a few times this year, plenty of rain.

One mistake I did make was peeing on the grass in private places (like a dog marking my territory). Talk about kill a 3 foot wide patch of grass.

Um, no, we have an underground irrigation system which we use the the dry months, once or twice a week. We currently have a deluge everyday, for about an hour, and have a healthy lawn.

It rains almost every day in South Louisiana during the summer. I bet we haven't had consecutive days without rain in a month.

Twice a week makes no sense. Do one really long deep watering once a week.

If it gets a half inch twice a week, that’s not the same as 1 inch once a week, for an essay of reasons.

Numerous more frequent light watering actually helps weeds and hurts the Bermuda, for residential purposes.

This. Frequent light watering encourages shallow stunted root growth. Infrequent deep watering encourages healthy deep root growth.

I have 3 acres and never water it. I have a pool with Tif 419 around it I water it every other day and now it every 3 days. It’s pretty sick. Short fairway grass.

I’m with you on this one.
70 years old. Never have or never will water or fertilize grass. Now the garden is a different story.

The jackass across the street was watering his lawn...really watering half the street. I told him it's going to rain soon. He said "no rain in the forecast".. before he could finish there was a clap of thunder...

If you live in the deep south, you very rarely have to.

I haven't watered it once this year. It rains almost every afternoon lately, and I haven't needed to. It was actually looking spectacular until my youngest son scalped it with the lawn mower a couple of weeks ago.

Your turf has an extremely shallow and weak root system if it can’t go more than a few days without watering. And you’re probably making the problem worse by watering as frequently as you say you are

If it rains every few days I dont water. But if we get a week with no rain I water every day for 20 min each section until rain pattern returns.
