Just looked up Rocket Drive In. That place look retro and the photos of their food look legit.

Is it any good?

ETA: Yeah there's a Sonic there now. Next to Pizza Hut. Sort of across from Bubba Eats-a-lot car dealership.

Jennings has a big problem with feral toucans. Their feces will ruin your automobile's paint job literally overnight, and they've also grown to be really aggressive and unafraid of humans. They're particularly found of swooping down and removing hairpieces with their beaks.

I hit up the Shop Rite and the Darrel’s down the road. Really all I got. From that little stretch there doesn’t seem to be much there.

Jennings really is not a great place but Lacassine, Hathaway, Iowa, and a few other towns around that area really are top notch. Good food, good people and life is kinda slow around those parts. What kind of work is actually done in Jennings? I figure the highest paid salary in the city of Jennings is under 90k.

Never ate there. Only got ice cream once or twice. It's been a long time since I've been to Jennings. My grandfather was the cheapest mechanic there...if you were an above average woman, he didn't charge at all

My parents first new car was from Bubba Oustalet. It was a Chevy that gave nothing but problems.

Yeah, but I was writing a cryptic message to a different guy that is reading this thread. I can see how that wasn't clear.

THAT guy is an idiot.

For such a small dealership, I see Chevy's with this dealer sticker everywhere. Even in Baton Rouge.

They either sell them really cheap or everyone in Jennings buys a Silverado there and promptly moves away.

As others have said, if you have kids, try to find something in the Hathaway school district.

I'm not kidding. I remember he and my dad working all weekend on a car right around this time of year and when she came to pick it up, my grandfather told her "no charge". My dad was PISSED the entire ride home.

I like to stop at the Shoneys when passing through. And if the kids are being wild, we stop at the park, the one with the alligator exhibit. You can see it from the interstate.

Yes. It's really good. That flat top has been around for like 75 years so the burgers have a lot of flavor.

The Root Beer Frostie is amazing, and their homemade onion rings are great, too.

My in-laws live in Jennings and we go to the Rocket every time we visit.
