From the answers, either Louisiana is full of millionaires or you guys made 10$-20$/hr out of college

So you're making $200k now and hope to be making $500k, in engineering?
Correct. I have my own firm that I started last year and have a potential to land some nice contracts.
Slow economy is holding me up at the moment.

I started at $14.16 an hour I believe.

Applying these numbers to what I started at tells me I should have a yacht and I most definitely did not have a top paying job for and engineer grad.
same situation here...

...and I have two other things keeping me busy. A fitness brand and app programming.
Those are just hobbies, though.

Props on making actual OT money and not being a douchebag like dabigfella.

I make double of what I made. Had to jump jobs to get there. Now I'm in top plateau. I have to find work outside my full time to make more

Nothing too extravagant.

Well, congratulations. Hopefully I have the ambition to do it myself one day. Currently I lack the ambition to phone the front desk for them to bring up an extra roll of shite tickets to my room

Dropped out of LSU in 1980. Make 3300% more.

Graduated in 2014. Not on straight salary but last year I made about 100% more than my starting salary and this year I'll probably be closer to 150%.

Is this another thread where everyone on the OT makes WELL over six figures, despite Louisiana having a poor economony with a lack of professional jobs and with a median household income of around $45K? Seems reasonable

I assume this wasn't a response to my post and just a response to the most recent post on the thread.. All he asked was relative to when I first got out of school. I don't have to admit that 70k is 100% more than 35k (my salary when I got out of school)

Posted on 5/3/17 at 9:46 pm to LSU6262
300% of what I made around 25 years ago.
Posted on 5/3/17 at 10:07 pm to LSU6262
155% more than in 2008

I'm a year and a half out and I'm up 10%. I got a fair offer out of school so I'm happy with that for now.

Well, I'm different, my wage fluctuated over time. Out of the military, I made 70k (averaging 15 hours/week overtime) at 22 working for the Army. After the war tapered down, they laid off a bunch of people, and I took a job making 45k. Decided at that point I should probably use my GI bill. Now that I'm out of school (freshly, but with two rounds of internship with same company), I'm at 85k at 29. In 10 years, if I'm still with the same company, it will be between 120k-150k, up to 200k if I take international positions.
