I'm guessing this is somewhere like Siberia or Antarctica, or somewhere in Northern Russia or Canada.

No real difference. The two scales intersect at -40.

Fairbanks?

I had to spend 5 days in late Jan/early Feb about 2 hr. north of Winnipeg and a cold snap was in with temps like that. The natives played hockey, curled, snowmobiled.....and drank.

Do we get paid just to survive up there or do we have to do an actual job and survive?

120° difference for those traveling to and from Florida this week. I'd think that could have potential to make some sick, with that type of change in climate so rapidly.

I'd rather spend a month in prison than get paid a reasonable stipend to spend a week there.

At a certain point it doesn't even matter even more. It could be negative 80 or negative 20 and you still aren't stepping your arse outside.
