Im 32. 42k a year as a route salesman with a car parts distributor . About half what I made at my last job but I'm a lot happier. There's a lot to be said about enjoying what you do and not dreading going into work every day. And having a lot of family time which I didn't before. Wife makes about the same as a teacher. Not setting the world on fire, but we're happy and get by just fine.

We make about the same. Do you have trouble budgeting? My money goes quick lol. I have most of my check go in to an account that is out of sight out of mind so that i don't start buying guns and boats and shite like that. I'm by no means rich but very comfortable. It's just easy to burn a whole check if i ain't careful.

I don't really have too hard a time budgeting. The fact that my wife nor I have a car note helps quite a bit . We do have a pretty steep mortgage though considering how much we make . We split stuff up though and still manage. Able to take at least one pretty decent vacation a year or so. Lol. And i do a decent bit of saving and investing. My first born due any day now though. I know that'll be a game changer.

The car note thing pisses me off. Mine isn't high (235 a month) but I used to just buy crap cars for cash and drive them a year or two then replace. I have a pretty good commute now so I bought a new vehicle so I don't get stranded. My rent is pretty damn low since I rent a metal building house on a family compound lol. I graduate in December so I'll be able to save more since I'm not paying tuition and 1500 a year in books
Congrats on the firstborn!

I just got put on LTD for a back surgery. Only drawing 60% of my pay and still saving. I always say it's not how much you make but how few bills you have. Debt free baby.

Not a fan of talking about money. I hate when people ask, and look at me as if i'm being rude when I say "prefer not to say" ie....nunya bizzness dogg
I did get a good piece of advice when I was younger that I try to get to keep in mind:
"You are rich when you make over 4 times then you owe"
