Don't know why they quit making the small iPod? It was perfect for the gym.

that should be a capitol offense punishable by life in prison or death. takes too long to amass one's tunes. No one should be able to mess with it.
I have about 300,000 mp3s and another 50,000 or so FLAC files. I have two separate back up drives with the complete collection, and two separate back ups for all the one's I keep on my phone. Doing that has saved my arse more than one.

What do you use or what is most common for organizing your music on your computer? Is there a program comparable to iTunes or you just do it via regular music folders?
I have avoided itunes specifically for their DRM and the hassle of using their interface.
When I started my collection I came up with a file system by genre and sub-genre that made sense to me, and I've used it ever since then. I can go right to any song I want on my hard drive. I have a misc file for all the genres for artist I only have one or a couple songs by, and store the rest by the artist or band name in the sub-genres
For playing and ripping music on my laptop I use MediaMonkey.
On my Samsung phones, the music app that comes with them has always been fine for what I want.

Yes. It's a perfect excuse to leave my phone in the locker. Plus I could run with it in my pocket without worrying about it. I miss the small iPod.
