How much is your typical water/sewer bill?

I live in the Chattanooga city limits and due to poor management, a lot of people int he area haven't been billed for sewer for a long time. Long story short, they are cracking down on this and people who slid through the cracks are now getting sewer bills, myself included. There is supposed to be no retroactive billing for sewer as the city was ultimately at fault.
The problem is I was charged what I read as an outrageously high charge for sewer.
My water usage from 9/11 to 11/10 is 1391 cubic feet, roughly 10500 gallons. The water portion of the bill is $23.50, but the sewer charge is $93.58.
I looked online and I cannot find their billing rates anywhere. I called the sewer billing department but no one answered. Is this high? Am I crazy?

I'm curious to see how many people on this board are on a well.

I average $30. I'm the only one in my house except for guests

I know most people don't look at their bill, I wouldn't have if it weren't so high, but what is your consumption?

My water/sewer bill is always well over $100, but then my wife likes to wash clothes one item at a time, and her favorite past time is watering the driveway. Can never have too clean of a driveway. FML.

Water sewer and trash are combined in BR. Ours is about $85 for all 3

If this is your first sewer bill then probably it's going to be high. They have a minimum they charge new customers until they can get a 3-4 month average on your water consumption. If you already have 3-4 months of a water bill you can call them and ask for the average to be lowered. You should receive a credit on your next bill

I just got off the phone with their billing department.
The rate for sewer for customers without an irrigation meter is $9.27/1000 gal. Does that seem high? Do I need to burn down city hall?

Sewer is $25 month, Water is about $15-20, Gas is about $8-$30
ETA: our Sewer is a flat rate of $25 month, when I moved into this subdivision 14 years ago it was $20 a month and if you paid for the year in full you got 1 month free. Its through a private contrator that handles just our subdivision and few more in other places but not tied in with our system.

$97.64 last month. That’s typical for us.
Water was $39.97. Sewage was $57.67
Atlanta Metro area for me, the wife 4 kids, one adult niece.
Edit: water consumption is usually between 6K to 7K gallons.

Such a scam. Our rate seems sooo high to me...

If it is high I assume the rate is part of the reason they aren't asking for back pay... They are making up for it moving forward.
I live in a small to mid-size subdivision (under 150 houses). We have a private sewer system that is managed by a local company. It used to be about $18/month at one point. Then a bunch of new homes were built and they were never billed for sewer. The sewer company found out and sent out a letter saying they weren't asking for back pay but they were bumping the rate for everyone to $45+/month.
