Truly. We had our 4 year old’s party at a local play place. 20ish kids and their parents for 2 hours. The facility, pizza, and tip for the party hostesses at the place came to $750. Another $50 for cupcakes. $200 on drinks, decorations, party favors, etc. If I start counting shite like $20 for a custom shirt because I’m a sucker, we’re over $1,000.

This was the first year we did a friends party. The prices were similar at all the typical birthday facilities, like trampoline parks & dedicated play places. They all start at $450+ for 2 hours, not counting food. Next year, I might try talking him into a weekend at The Oasis in Gulfport instead, or whatever. It would probably cost less and be more fun.

4 of my 5 kids have birthdays during the football season. They’ve only had tailgating bdays.

Who the hell uses a party planner for a 4 year old’s birthday party?

Call one of those indoor bounce house places to book. Then order cake and finger food like sandwich tray, veggie tray, and pizza. Party is planned for about $400

Imma go out on a limb and say this party is more for his wife's tiktok/Instagram than it is for their actual kid

Next party should be a divorce party. You’re never going to retire with a wife like that.

It’s so they can not-so-subtle brag to their friends how much they had to pay the damn party planner for the six year olds birthday party.

Evidently the planner takes care of all the details: picks a theme, contacted a food caterer, found a bakery to make the cake, secured the band, provided attendants for the adult bar and those type of things. She also sets everything up and takes everything down. Seems like too much for a young child’s party, that’s why I was asking.

For four year old boys:
Theme: dinosaurs, Marvel, sports.
Food: place a catering order with little Caesar’s or chick fil a
Cake: grocery store
Music: Spotify delivered via Bluetooth speaker
Adult bar? GTFO. Every adult there except some women wants to GTFO asap.
Set up and take down? The loser moms that stay til the bitter end are on the hook for that.

That’ll be $50.

This is the most ridiculous thing I may have ever read. If you are getting these things for a 4 year olds birthday, you should have so much money it doesn't even register to you.

And I hope your 4 year old is a boy, because if it's a girl, you are going to go through some financial pain when your wife plans the wedding.

A party planner? I swear Baton Rouge is a bunch of moms that compete with each other to see who can spend the most on their kids. Geez. Just take him to the trampoline place. This party is for your wife not your kid.

If you really loved your son you'd have put that check into a college fund.
