I've probably saved thousands over the years by watching videos on anything from fixing HVAC systems to car repair.
Just replaced a starter switch on an old Honda Accord. Out about $30 for the part and about 30 minutes of time. Watching the video first was very helpful.

What about you?

You can figuratively fix everything with YouTube. I’m about a 5/10 on the handy scale, but this makes me as good as anyone.

Hell, my wife, who is the definition of a girly girl, built an outdoor chair by herself with YouTube last weekend. And it actually came out great

I usually don’t try to fix anything anything too complicated.. so over the years I’d estimate I have saved about $350.

Also a lot of instrument hacks with guitar, bass and drums.

Recepies for great food

How to grow psychedelics

Etc

I actually gained money tbh

Thousands.

Sometimes you just need to know something is possible (e.g., getting an alternator out the top of a VW Jetta without special tools).

My wife has fixed major issues on our washing machine twice Herself by watching YouTube videos saving hundreds.

It's like being in the Matrix. I've fixed and built all sorts of things I had no business doing.

One day someone will be on a plane and the pilot will be passed out and when they ask if anyone knows how to fly, everyone will pull out their phone. 15 minutes later you'll be on the ground celebrating.

Thousands on labor if I lived up north. But since I live in Houston, I’ve saved hundreds in labor.

Easily several thousand. I’m fairly handy but some instruction goes a long way, did a full bathroom remodel using the Internet/YouTube for guidance. A few years ago we brought my wife’s Honda in for a recall and they did an inspection for free. They quoted her something like $3300 to replace all the struts, sway bar links, rotors and brake pads and a few other small odd and ends. I bought all the parts for around $800 and did it all myself.

For sure. Last time was a video about replacing the seats and springs in a Delta kitchen faucet. The parts cost about $2.00.
