No idea, but if she’s happy, I’m happy…

My GF makes her own money I don’t care how much she spends. As Trump would say “she make a lot a money”. I make a comfortable living and last year her tax bill was higher than my gross.

Does a trip to ULTA count in response to your question?

That's about average for a woman to get a decent haircut

If you have kids and aren't well off she does this bc she's a great mom and spends every extra cent on the kids.
If yall don't have kids and are well off then she is down to earth and doesn't give one frick what anyone thinks and that's an awesome trait as well. Win win for you brother

And your husband probably would prefer you without any of the makeup or bottom bc he loves you for you.

2c here. I wear my hair long these days so I only get cuts a couple times a year at most. Those usually run me about $100 plus tip because I like one of the treatments my stylist uses and I haven’t dyed my hair in about 7 years. Just got tired of the upkeep with it and my natural color is perfectly fine. I have a $30 bottle of conditioner curl cream I put in after I wash my hair so not a lot of product.

As far as makeup, I have sensitive skin so I don’t wear much and it’s usually Bare Minerals foundation and Clinique everything else. So maybe $150 all together that gets replaced once a year?

For lotion/face wash I go with Vanicream and they run about $30 for a bottle of face lotion that lasts forever.

Will occasionally get a manicure or pedicure (so $200 at most for both with tip) but I don’t do dips or acrylics so it’s not very often.

Ex-wife has been spending $90 a month on my pre-teen daughter's nails for years. "For dance," you know. You can extrapolate from there.

I can give you what I spend:

Hair (every two months:) Cut & Color including tip: $325/ea.
Nails (maybe three times a year): $75/ea
Makeup (drug store stuff): prob around $15/month
No botox/filler/etc..
Face creams, luxury skin care: Prob $100/month plus a beauty bundle I buy myself at Christmas that is about $600.

Total per year: $4200 give or take.

With hair making up the largest part and I do NOT go to a fancy salon. $325 for cut and color is the cheapest I can find near me that isn't a "Custom Cuts" or similar walk in crap.

I can also assure you that amongst my circle of friends I would come dead last in spending. They get $400 Brazilian blow outs, $2000 in botox/filler every couple of months, nails every other week, facials several times a month, $65 lip glosses, and $40 sunscreens. My sister in law pays $45 for someone just to regular blow dry her hair every week.

I have enough disposable income, but it makes me mad to pay those prices out of principle. I understand you’re paying for the hairdresser’s expertise, product costs, etc., but damn. I also hate making small talk, which makes me hate going to a salon. I watched some videos and started cutting & coloring my hair myself. I’ve had 2 salon cuts in the past 10 years.

I paint my nails at home. I love makeup, but it lasts a long time. I probably spend $150-200/year on makeup and nail polish. I’m part of a program that sends a lot of free beauty products to review, so I get a ton of skincare and makeup that way.

I’ve gotten Xeomin (like Botox) once. It only lasted 4 weeks, which felt like a waste. I want it again for my forehead, but not to pay hundreds for a month.

I don’t judge any women who prioritize beauty spending and I’m not trying to be a “pick me” type. I just can’t bring myself to pay that much, so I walk around looking like a beast with bad hair

Get with the times. It is 2025.

Thankfully my wife is very frugal and doesn't spend much on beauty items or so I am told. I really don't care as we have separate accounts and as long as she pays her share of the monthly bills.

Yep. This is why I only get my hair trimmed maybe once a year and why I don't get nails done. I hate being there. The nail salon especially because the language barrier is so difficult, and it takes forever. Especially if you go to a mid-range salon where they bounce from person to person instead of doing one person at a time. I used to get so mad at this.

Hair has gotten better because it's my cool as hell friend who does hair that cuts it now. And like I said, my hair is like 15 minutes.

Hey me too! I've gotten so lazy on reviews though. They're going to stop sending me stuff soon, I'm sure. I've gotten some wild stuff over the years though. I got a whole arse COUCH once.

Now the question becomes, is it worth it?

I think I'll find an Amish gal

That’s amazing!! The “best” things I’ve gotten were an $800 shower door and 100 sq ft of luxury vinyl flooring but I’ve lucked out with a ton of really great skincare, supplements, makeup, small appliances, etc., over the years.
