Explain.
I've paid property taxes for over 20 years and compared to HI they are really high. Compared to LA, they are high. Compared to TX they are very low but compared to CA and IL they are a steal.

Panhandle of FL, millage rates are about a third higher than Ascension Parish. That's a few hundred dollars a year. Compared to thousands in state income tax? FL for the win.

Live in low tax areas. If a high tax area is desirable, then I can always visit.

Didn't consider them when I moved but the property taxes here in Round Rock are pretty high (10k a year). To be fair though, you see where it goes.

Me too, police response time in less than 2 minutes, new streets in my entire neighborhood and drainage that works make a huge difference. Plus Latoya and the SWB aren't my silent partners.
