1st year at this job, 2 weeks then add a week in 3yrs then another at 8yrs. We are going to 12hr days in Jan so we will get 170 days off a year.

We're of the "use it or lose it" mentality sadly.

So I sense some embellishing here....
Idi some of you guys actually start with 4 weeks per year??
And 28 days? That’s 11% of the work year... I call BS on some of this

Took a salaried, professional job with not a day of sick or vacation time for a year.
I don’t feel bad for my hour and a half lunches and leaving early.

Unlimited PTO
I work from home too, and only travel once a quarter for a few days.

Earn 4 weeks a year.
I've got a shite load of sick leave built up though that I'm saving as a short term disability plan.
You must work for the same people I work for.

Every 2 weeks/80 hours, I believe i accrue 12.5 PTO hours, so that equates to around 318 hours, or 7-8 weeks per year.
I actually don't have many hours accrued now(not sure the #) as I only started receiving the 12.5 a few months ago, and it was much lower before, 8-9 ish if I recall.

A lot of places combine vacation and sick into just Personal Time Off (PTO) now so where it used to be two weeks vacation and two weeks sick, it's just four weeks PTO.
When I started at my current job I got 12 of each, up to 21 of each now.
And they all roll over if I don't use them.

Was getting 6 weeks PTO per year but could only carry over a week of that, which I always did. So basically started every year with 7 weeks ready for use.
Recently shifted to an "FTO" flex time off policy which is basically unlimited paid time off. Sounds good but we'll see how it goes.

I get roughly 6 weeks. It's PTO like you mentioned but I can work from home if I'm sick so unless I can't get out of bed I don't take sick days.

I truly love my income and overall freedom, it’s weird but sometimes high income and the responsibility that comes with it is a prison in its own way
But do miss taking actual “vacation days”where I could not think about work at all and the paycheck was whole

I get a week next year. It won't be when I want it either likely winter/spring or parts of fall

I can also work from home whenever I want. Pretty much anyone with a professional degree not working for a tiny company is going to have a similar setup

2 weeks PTO/yr with 40hr available to carry over....
Posted on 9/19/18 at 1:16 pm to StringedInstruments
4 weeks with 2 personal days. I just realized this week that I have 3.5 weeks of vacation left to burn

Posted on 9/19/18 at 1:23 pm to StringedInstruments
Been there 3 years and I have 2 weeks vacation, 8 PTO days. We’re on the DuPont 12hr schedule so I have more than enough time off
Posted on 9/19/18 at 1:29 pm to StringedInstruments
Technically 13 days but I take off as much as I want without actually using them as long as the company is running smooth
Forgot about 3 "personal days"

A little over 300 hours...right at 7.5 weeks. Been with the same company 21+ years. Like to keep my balance above 250.

30 accrued right now. built up in last couple years
I get 30 days PTO a year, and can bank up to 1.5x of annual (45).
