A triangle with a line through it is still a triangle. That’s like saying a pizza that has been cut into slices isn’t a circle anymore.

Y'all might be trolling me, but 3 at the top and one encompassing the others. Capice?
The others aren't triangles. Simple.

Has this never been on the OT before? That's surprising.

I've got 18. I feel like I counted 19 before but I'm only seeing 18 now.

This thread has been an emotional rollercoaster for me. I can't argue that.

I'm just not very bright. I can see that now.

But they combine to make triangles.

Look, I think it's disingenuous and I don't like it either but there it is. Even though there really is only four goddamn, motherfricking, cocksucking triangles.

How are you only getting 4?

I can’t fathom how this thread has gone on since HHTM posted the answer on page 3.

Well if I can add my own lines I might come up with 350 triangles. There are four. I can bisect an equilateral triangle and come up with two. I may come up with an infinite number of triangles.

You can't add your own lines.

9+6+3=18

I ALWAYS miss something though, some kind of thing where my brain doesn't work for this type of thing

If you can turn stacked trapezoids defined by lines displayed with the actual triangles as shown on top, and make new triangles then I can add my own lines. This is one of those things that has no "correct" answer. I called the triangles as I saw them. I can as easily add stacked shapes with triangular tops to make new triangles as everyone else has done. But whether 4 or 18 I'm not going to sweat it. It all depends on the interpretation given the lack of instructions as to the methods to be employed. As far as the pizza analogy, if I was asked how many circles I saw in a pizza, I'd say one. If asked how many slices I'd count them just as I counted the actual triangles.

4. The big one and the three small ones at the top.
