New pair of White Shrimp Boots looks pretty good.

Are we talking ones that still fit?

Sounds like a lot of the OT has gotten fat. Me included.

I find it odd that a grown man doesn't own one suit.

I don't own one either. The last one I had dry rotted in the closet over 10 years ago. It was from the 80's so it wasn't worth a shite to begin with. I always hear the wedding/funeral bit, but if I'm not serving in either why would I want to wear a suit ?

I've got 3, navy, black, and grey.

I go to customer dinners/charity events about 3x a year. Only time I ever wear them

2. One that's gray and one that's black. The black one is starting to get a little small though. May get another one at some point.

I think I have eight currently. I bought a new Tommy Hilfiger one a couple of weeks ago at Lord & Taylor's going out of business sale. I went back there a couple of days ago and bought a Calvin and Klein tuxedo and a Nautica brown microsuede sport coat. Plus a bunch of $80 dress shirts for $15 each.

The only suits you see around here are politicians and lobbyists. Its a very casual town.

One, I only wear it to weddings and funerals of family members not bothering for anyone else. I don’t gainor lose weight so I will likely be buried in it.

I have used Tom James my whole career BUT why the quality of the clothes is the same the individual tailors can be quite different and I understand the younger ones are often hard sales. My guy is older (and in SC) and about to retire but plans to pass me off to someone he respects but I haven't met him yet. I love the convenience of them coming to me.

There are better producers than Tom James from what I understand but I have been very pleased with the quality and service for 25 years now and just don't see a reason to switch. I am very traditional with my suit choices both fabric and construction and never follow trends so while I never look like my suits just came off a Milan runway they also never look like yesterday's "fashion" either. I have 20-year-old suits that still have plenty of life in them but the 3 pairs of paints have saved me a LOT of money over the years and having that investment keeps me conscious of my waist size. Brooks Brothers is one that has off-the-rake suits you can buy multiple pairs of pants as they have a group of fabrics that they make sure match long term.

Got it! I normally ask my tailor to make two pairs of trousers, one with and one without pleats. Couldn’t stomach the extra cost associated with a third pair ha!
