Under 2000 sq ft. Anything bigger than 2k and people are going to want/expect a 4th bedroom.

You are so funny with your mobile home jokes! I live in the Bay Area of SF. 1000sf will run you a million on a 2000sf lot. I am pleased as fricking punch with my 600sf.

Edit-jcms, I have another one on the way and my girls will share a room. I am ok with that. We have a lot more than some people and Sharing a room never hurt anyone.

share a closet with my husband. Not a walk in just a closet. And we live in 600 square feet with a toddler. It is a little smaller than I would prefer but I think 1200 would be plenty. I would however love a 1 acre lot....that would run me well over a million here though

To each his own. I couldn't imagine that many people in 600SF. Kudos to you guys for making it work tho.

Less than 2500. Smaller houses are easier to live in, and you actually see the kids more.

That sounds miserable as hell.

Is it an apartment or do you have a yard?

It's an apartment with a small yard. The size of the kitchen is more disheartening than closet space. The less space you have the less you buy. But we do love to cook so I miss my huge kitchen.
