How many Records/Tapes/CDs did you swindle from Columbia House?

I’d bet I signed up with at least a dozen fake names. At least half of my physical music collection were free goods from Columbia House.

They made their money back making us buy 4 CDs at $22/each. Bastards.

Limewire/frostwire >>>>>>> bmg/Columbia House

Surely they knew well ahead of time that Napster and mp3 marketplace was coming our way?
I definitely got 16 for a penny. I never read the fine print. And as much shite as they threatened me with...my credit score has nothing on it about any of my swindlin

I remember! I hated getting that bill in the mail. I still have some of those CDs.

Ironic part is, the music everyone downloaded from Napster, Limewire, Frostwire, etc was mostly Columbia House CD’s that were ultimately uploaded to the net.

Yep. They always got me. 4 CDs was about a week's worth of bagging groceries at Winn Dixie

During my formative years, it was tapes, and we all just copied each others with a panasonic dual deck with "high speed dubbing".
Go to the mall with 4 guys, each buys one tape, and a couple hours later we all had all four tapes.
There was no reason to do the columbia house bs.

Between BMG and Columbia House, I sent in a fake name to my real address probably 8 times? I was 12 years old.
It is very interesting that this topic comes up, I was actually asked during an interview probably 15 to 20 years ago around explaining a time that I lied to get something I wanted with no intention of ever paying it back. And this is the exact example I brought up.
Got the job.

I always paid. My wife has threatened to send me bills from fake companies so she'll have more spending money because I always pay them

I was a poor and dishonest kid from Zachary with not much going on in my life. This was something awesome I could do on my own with approvals from my friends (who also did it).

Me too. I remember having to pay for a Vangelis cd when I forgot to send back the form to decline it one month.

So, you’re actually bragging about theft you committed.
