Saving up for a house.
Saving up for a kid.
We are traveling, just not internationally right now.

Do you really think you're gonna start traveling more after the kid?

I got the special security treatment in Frankfurt last week. I earned that stamp.
I was hoping they didn't notice the claritn bottle I had emptied and replaced with valium for flying.

I refuse to be one of those parents who only goes to Disney for vacations. frick that. I want my kid to experience other countries/cultures as a kid, not a manufactured copy of it.
Yeah won't be able to travel much while they are a baby but why not when they get older ya know?

Because little league and recitals and school and in-laws and work. Also, other cultures are overrated IMO. Everybody is really the same. They go to work, come home, eat dinner, bang their wife, rinse and repeat. People aren't really all that different. But hey, if you can afford it and it's what you want, go for it. For me, if my kids want to see the world they can do it the old fashion way, move out at 18 and join the Marines.

That's not true at all. I spend 5 weeks working in an office in Douala, Cameroon while living in a company apartment. My company then flies me home to Colorado (or any other place I want to spend my 5 weeks) and I basically do whatever I want.

It's true for 99.9% of the people on this planet. But it sounds like you have a cool job.

Easy now, some of us have never been to Disney.

I'm lucky because if I ever have kids, they'll experience two cultures growing up. And no matter what the future wife says, my kids will learn Spanish.

Brussels airport frustrates the frick out of me. You have to go through passport control to go from terminal 2 to terminal 1. WTF!!!! I wasn't even leaving the EU. I was flying from Belgium to Germany.

Fair enough. I'm actually considered moving out the country with my setup. I have a friend in Croatia and I want to visit and check it out. I'm very interested in the area.
