Not really, just another great tradition in America where it's an excuse to party and drink. For the single men and women it's pretty good time.

I was talking more about the ceremony and traditions involved

whether it be a second line, lighting unity candles, or whatever else

its all kinda cheesy till the reception gets going

this. If the umbrella thing annoys you, run now. you have no idea how many things about the wedding- let alone marriage- will annoy you.

Assuming this is your first marriage, of course.

All part of the process, it builds memories. I don't think it's cheesy at all. How many times throughout your adult life do you get to have a day with all your friends and family around and make good memories?

I get that. Still mostly cheesy.

And I'm not hating on weddings. My wedding was cheesy as hell and I had a great time.

I had a great time at mine as well but I don't think I would call it cheesy, maybe because I was into everything and sincerely enjoyed it and I am the biggest anti-cheesy person. I know I'll probably never again be able to have those same group of friends and family in one place again, which sucks.

We didn't pose for pictures, but we had the whole second line thing. By that time, you are so drunk and happy you don't give a shite about the petty crap you didn't agree with in regards to the wedding.

You seem to be really upset with me calling weddings "cheesy"

I have no idea why you keep bringing this up. In no way have I stated that someone shouldn't have a wedding.

What? I'm just having a discussion. Giving you my reason why I don't agree with you.

How am I missing the point? Traditional weddings you do all the "cheesy" stuff, at a courthouse weeding all the cheesy stuff is cut out. Cheesy has a negative connotation imo.
