Just south of 12 off of hwy.59. We are going to ride it out at the house. WE bought a whole house generator after Katrina. Not wishing the storm on anyone, but don't want it here. Good luck to all and stay safe.

Ironically, palms don't seem to blow over like Oak trees.

Good luck to everyone.

Freeze as much water as you can fit in your freezer. You have time if you do it now. Two liter bottles or gallon jugs or 16 ounce plastic bottles. That will help when you lose poser. Only open the door to remove what you need and close it quickly. We all are going to lose power.

Covington- Northpark- staying. Lived in Old Mandeville since 93- got treed but no water in Katrina.
This could be the first real test of flooding patterns since all of the new levee work on SS will be forcing surge into the lake.

Get ready for traffic on steroids tommorow on 12 & 190 if New Orleans starts heading north.
Before Katrina, it several HOURS to get from Mandeville to Covington

In-laws and my parents are both in Old Mandeville and both a block from the lake. Heading our way early tomorrow morning.

Get them the frick out of there or make sure they have kayaks on hand! And that their cars are parked north of Monroe St. Anything closer to the lake than Monroe has a solid chance of getting some flooding.

high and dry even during the worst flooding but surrounded by many many trees most/all older than I am

going to talk it over with the wife and maybe bail this morning.
I don’t have kids here but I do have a business to run in BR and employees to look after. But I can’t do that if my house gets t-boned...

y’all stay safe and do the right thing for you

Ponchatoula area, going to leave today before lunch and spend the weekend in Grapevine. To many trees around the house and the ground is so soft from all the rain this year. If one is going to fall on my house I’d rather not be in my home when it does.

City of Mandeville notice says Katrina had around an 8 foot surge and expecting 4-6 feet for Ida.
