When I eat a diet high in fruits & veggies, baked foods instead of fried, my skin is not oily at all. If I eat fried foods, chips & salsa, etc., then you could deep fry anything on my forehead.
I don’t eat ANY fried foods, chips I eat are baked
I think it has more to do with summertime or excessive washing as it’s much worse in the summer

Slow down on the astringent! It makes your skin produce more oil.

Don’t use alcohol based products. It ruins your skin. Find some witch hazel and it will perform much better and help you in long run.

I went on Keto for a little while and my skin got much healthier.

Overall, good.
It’s boring though, and whenever I ate something that had sugar in it, raspberries for example, my body responded like I was consuming a hard drug. It just craved the easy calories.
But inflammation disappeared almost immediately. Within two or three days. I use to have dandruff, it stopped. My vision is also sharper, which I think was inflammation related.
I would encourage everyone to try it. I didn’t need to lose weight, I’m thin, but I did lose all of my fat reserves very quickly. And I’m noticeably bonier.
I did have trouble getting enough calories. I had some related fatigue issues. With my metabolism, I probably need more carbs than most do.

Oily face checking in. Might I ask where you are able to still find SeaBreeze? I used to use it when I was younger but I cannot find it anywhere now. I've been using some Neutrogena face wash in the shower with Neutrogena astringent afterwards now. But there's nothing quite like the feeling of a cool, fresh, tingly sensation that SeaBreeze provided.

So sad to see men talk about this

Me. I’m like a damned duck.
I’m now 54 And I still have really nice skin.

I like to go 3-4 days with not a carb, then splurge for 24 hours or so. Day after that, I’ll fast to sort of reset and go from there. It helps with the fatigue and monotony.

I know you’re not going to believe this. But the best way to deal with oil... is with oil.
Start oil cleansing (I can explain this more if you care, lol) and use something like squalane oil a few times a week on clean dry skin.
You need to be moisturizing. Your skin over-produces oil when it isn’t moisturizer enough. Don’t buy oil free products that strip the natural oils from your skin —it will send your oil production into overdrive.

Yes. I do like that. I’ve always been able to find it at CVS and Walmart

Did you know the best time to oil yourself is while you’re still in the shower before you dry off? I was watching Ryan and Kelly the other day, (well it was on) and she said you want to oil yourself while all your pores are still open from the hot shower.
I haven’t tried it yet and don’t plan to but I just wanted to contribute to the thread

Yes!
Also if you use products with hyaluronic acid (Or if you just use hyaluronic acid by itself, which I highly recommend), it draws moisture from inside your skin and brings it to the surface to make you look healthy and moisturized. If you live in climate with low humidity, they recommend having a damp face when you use it so it doesn’t pull all your moisture out from within.
There’s a brand called The Ordinary that sells viles of pure active ingredients for your skin for less than $10 a pop. It’s awesome.

The struggle is real. I was using some stinky Sulfacleanse and Soolantra cream to fight a bad bout of rosacea. Things have settled down and I am OK with this. But, I agree you probably shouldn't be drying out your skin like crazy.
