How many of you are still friends with your ex-wives/girlfriends, did you have kids?

Friend is still hanging out with his ex-wife although they had no kids. She is dating someone new so this is really fricking odd to me.
Anyone else still friendly with an ex even though you did not have kids with them?

But to answer your question, my BIL married a girl I dated before.

Glad I got my wife

I'm friends with my 2 exes. It's because of the kids but we often find ourselves at parties, tailgates, birtday dinners around each other. We share Facebook posts, send videos to each other of the kids, etc.

They also both love my gf of 7 yrs(longer than either marriage) and appreciate what she does for their bebes.
I'm very blessed for the pleasant dynamic and I am grateful.

Not friends with, but on friendly terms if we have to communicate.
I would never hang out with her though, frick that. That's weird.

Maybe it is more common that I thought...

I just know they got a divorce after 2 years and yet they still text, hang out, etc. They have no kids and he is even friends with the guy she is currently dating...

2 with each ex wife. Want to try and get one with the gf in a few years(she's younger). May have to adopt though.

One of my best friends is an old girlfriend. We dated for maybe two years back in the late 90’s. Fought all the time, just real immature. Broke up, moved on. She got married and it didn’t work out and we re-connected afterwards as friends and still are to this day: she’s remarried now and I even stood in her wedding. I’m good friends with her husband too, of course. We’ve still had our ups and downs and it’s very obvious that we’d never work dating but we make great friends. It helps that her husband is a great guy and very cool with our friendship. Now, the girls I’ve dated in the past haven’t always been cool with me being friends with an ex, but that’s just because I seem to date catty, insecure women. Maybe that’s all females, I don’t know. All I know is that I’ve had some degree of pushback from everyone I’ve dated about our friendship.

To me it's more wierd for the guy she's currently dating... rather than for the dude who put it in her first, before him.

Being friends with somebody you just dated, or had some HS/college fling with, or hooked up with is one thing. Being friends with an ex from a serious relationship, especially one you lived with is an entirely different thing.
