Dated, but how serious were y’all? “Love of my life” dating? I don’t believe anyone who says they make it work after that. I think many will tolerate it and be civil if they have kids together, but it doesn’t work if what you had was actually real and not just a fling.

Don't really have any choice but to be. We're stuck living together for a while.

As for previous relationships, we're not unfriendly, but there's definitely some awkwardness there. We definitely don't hang out any more, but we don't avoid each other when going to events with mutual friends.

I was fb friends with my ex from BR until he committed suicide a couple months ago. He was the guy I was with for 9 years. The extent of our friendship was the occasional fb chat and happy bday post.

and I even stood in her wedding.

This was a fling and you weren’t in love with her. If I was friends with an ex, no way in hell would I show up to the wedding, nevertheless do something as beta as this. If the relationship meant something, that should be torture for anyone, even if you completely hate your ex. That’s most beta move I can think of. Swingers look at you and say “what a loser standing at his ex’s wedding”.

I was at my ex's wedding proposal with the guy I left him for.

Ummmm, yeah guys don’t do that in front of their exes unless they’re still obsessed with them and trying to show off. Total beta power move by him and was trying to get you jealous. I couldn’t imagine proposing to someone in front of any ex. That may be more beta than standing in your ex’s wedding... not quite there but close.
