Well, I was just going to concede that much rather than argue over it.

It's a shame that the greatest country on earth has these two baffons as candidates. It's really sad we can't come up with anyone that can fix the mess Obahma created. The sad fact is that Clinton will win and she should be going to prison.

I skipped a city council election one time and it ended in a tie. My vote would have counted then.

Correct.

It matters a great deal that "the people" can channel their passions into a highly regulated and mostly honest process instead of rioting in the streets.

But no single person's vote matters bupkis unless you happen to be on the Supreme Court to settle a near-tie.

I think that is the point that your vote doesn't matter.

Also isn't there some chart that shows all of the presidents who are blood related (which was most)? Also why keep having these same families 'president' over us? Bushes, Clintons, Boma's, etc. The media is as much to blame as only 6 companies control all the tv you see, not to mention that they own most of the radio stations, news paper outlets, and magazines, and it is easy to see how far their power reaches. As long as the masses can get their shiny phones and stuff their gut with twinkie, life will be good.

The entire voting system is designed to maintain the *illusion* of choice.

To be fair, we collectively choose who governs us. But the process is mired by the distribution of demographics. It is more of an issue when you consider how much elite businesses, banks, and other powerful entities actually control how the nation operates.

In local elections, your vote still matters and in state elections as well. National elections,
presidential elections, I don't know. I used to think the conspiracy theorists were nut jobs. Now I'm not so sure.

If you go back far enough in time damn near everyone is related. I did see someone bring this up so I did a quick Google search. They claim they are all related and descendants of King John from England...and by that route, damn near a third of the entire US population are descendants of that guy
