Don't know about Wisconsin people, but our next door neighbors, in Texas, know Monroe. Everyone south of the Arkansas line and north of Winnfield, from Arcadia to Tallulah says they're from Monroe.

Lauberge and Golden Nugget have done a surprising job of putting LC on the map. I’ve met people all over while traveling that have been to LC to gamble. I’ve met people in the BVI, NYC,
Chicago, and even China that had been to the casinos here.

Again, Lafayette and Acadiana are not nearly as well-known as you locals like to believe.

Lafayette is definitely confused with Monroe frequently due to the colleges and duck dynasty.

Lol
I think you're confused. Lafayette has the medical field and engineering. Monroe has crap like criminal justice, etc. If we are comparing which University of Louisiana is better, it's hands down Lafayette.

people in Southern California know of Shreveport and Monroe. you wouldn’t believe how many people grandparents from Northern Louisiana in LA... same for Chicago with small Mississippi towns

All of those highly rated football recruits that love LSU ate the beginning of their recruitment's say they have relatives in Shreveport. Can't blame their GP's for leaving. I left too. Came back to draw my Social Security and Medicare!

I think you are the one confused. Monroe has a top pharmacy program, THE top nursing program, a highly rated MT program etc. Being in the medical field my entire career and never heard anything from ULL. And La Tech, hands down, has the engineering program among the smaller colleges in the state.

I’m not talking about me personally. I’m talking out of state people. What reason would I possibly have to make this shite up? Who cares about Lafayette vs Monroe?

UL Lafayette is most likely the best in the state. I guess LSU health NO is neck and neck. I couldn’t go to college and live in Nola. Too much going on

What are you looking at for this? After I laughed I attempted to look it up and didn’t find a single rating where ULM was above UL in nursing. Not claiming that UL is the best, but neither is ULM.

My wife and I both work in healthcare, so I don’t know what your point was in mentioning that.

ETA: there’s some weird flex where people who went to UL for nursing claim it’s some super high ranked nursing school, apparently the same goes for ULM

Boisie is not a town name that I recognize in Idaho

I assume you are referring to the incorrect spelling. Bit of trivia Boise is pronounced BOY-see, I said and heard it all my life at Boy-ZEE. Never knew until I spent a couple of weeks there a few years ago. Idaho has a lot of city and geographic names that stump pretty much all of us outsiders, just like Louisiana but theirs aren't nearly as cryptic at ones like Natchitoches. I spent several years down here never really knowing where "Ellic" was.

Dude stfu you’re so full of shite. Nothing at ULM is the top program at anything. If it weren’t for them having the only pharmacy school, they’d be shut down. That’s LOUISIANA politics for you.
