You obviously don't know how to use one. I have two, have had at least one for 30plus yrs and have NEVER carried a balance.

I only have one that has a small limit and it's just to buy gas, groceries, and go out to eat.

That way, my bank info stays untouched by thieves.

I don't care if they run up a credit card. It's not real money and the card company just erases it

I've never understood the desire to have a bunch of credit cards.
Neither have I. I have two in case I lose one. I can understand having a separate for business but not in excess of 3 total. In fact wanted to ask those with several, why?

Three pages on the OT and no Amex Black Card?!

Amex Platinum for erreday purchases, and then I have two open that I don't use.

Target
Dell

The Dell one is the only one with a balance because I just bought an Alienware.

Amex Everyday
Chase Sapphire
Barclaycard Arrival+
Discover It

Bought Man City vs Man United tickets solely on amex reward points earlier this afternoon.

Credit card rewards are the GOAT. I almost never pay cash for anything and just pay off large purchases asap but try and keep my utilization around 10% for max score.

17. I play the points/miles game. Don't carry a balance. Will dump some after I resign up to get bonuses in the near future.

4 Amex
1 Discover
1 Cap One
2 Chase

Amex Platinum is my main go to and travel based card, and I rotate the others based on rewards.. Always pay in full prior to statement cut date. I'll never use a debit card again.

One, and we only have it for emergencies until student loans are paid off.

Perks and points man. Free money. Just from switching cards to get the bonus sign up offers I accrued over $3000 in points and miles for travel in 1 year with 4 cards. That's rookie numbers compared to real credit card churning. I NEVER carry a balance and treat them the same as a debit card. The increase in overall credit limit and lines of credit make up for the minor dings when opening multiple a year and my credit score is high 700s.

I keep going back and fourth on the AMEX plat. Hard to justify $450 a year but when I get the 100k point offer it's hard to throw away

To all the posters saying zero, for god's sake go get one for the fraud protection alone. Debit cards are for ATMs. Plenty of zero annual fee cards with great perks as well.
