How many battles did the US lose in the Vietnam War?

I read on this site that the US lost over 100 battles in the war. Yes, 100 battles. Which is bullshite, if you ask me. I did some digging and found most sites on the internet using this 'article' stating that we lost 104 battles to be exact and named them all. I'm not as astute in history as some of you on here, but I know a good bit about American military history, which I know that there are some on here that know a whole helluva lot more than me in that regard, but I was just curious what y'all thought about this.

A lot of what the author uses aren't even what I'd really consider battles, more like skirmishes. In any case, the common theme of that is "the NVA withdrew" it never states how many of the enemy we killed either.
I still don't believe we lost 100 or really any battles in the war for that matter, but take a look and tell me what you think

Why does this sound so inconceivable to you?

Does your resume include commanding armed forces?

It’s not that it’s inconceivable, it’s that I don’t think it’s accurate.

We won every battle in Vietnam , but we lost the war. We lost because of TV news bringing it into our living rooms every day.

None. Don’t believe the fake news media created by Walter Cronkite

What does that have to do with anything?

A quick look at your link indicated that they call almost any engagement a battle.

You were quick to define skirmishes instead of battles, in your opinion. Just wondering what level of knowledge that is based upon? Call of Duty on the PS3, reading Tim O'Brien or actual military service?

The south was defeated by the north in 75 after we didn’t hold up our end of the bargain and go to the aid of the south when the north attacked them.

The US got their asses kicked. Plain and simple. They were unprepared and unmotivated. Should have never been there.

Our entire two decade involvement in that part of the world was an unmitigated disaester. Does it really matter what number of battles we won and lost on paper?
That conflict was an L for the United States, relative to our mission and in general.
No one should look at Vietnam and see victory in any context.
ETA: if anything, it looks even worse now than it did then. That big scary Vietnamese communist government that we thought would cozy up to the USSR and PRC never did. They fought a war with China in fact, and now stand as one of our closest economic partners in SE Asia, as well as increasingly a reliable military partner in the South China Sea.

Actual military service. But there’s a pretty big difference between a no shite battle and what’s not.

What shite have you been smoking?

Seems like you're upset that you claimed the US didn't lose a single battle in Vietnam and apparently were proven wrong.

Who GAF how many battles you lose? It's whether you win the war.

Yes, it does matter. The military gets a bad rap for Vietnam when they performed as well as could be expected when they were fighting with their hands tied behind their backs by the politicians in D.C.

I wasn’t alive then so I will probably be dismissed, but I am related to a few vets and I worked closely with a few more. The consensus from what they tell me and what I learned in school is that we kicked the shite out of the North Vietnamese, so bad that they signed a peace treaty. But they knew that the American stomach for war was weak and that congress would not continue to fund a war in Vietnam. So, the north Vietnamese broke the peace treaty and resumed their attacks, knowing that the Americans would not back the south Vietnamese any further.
So in short we “won” the war but would not continue to fight any further and we would not honor the peace treaty on our end by continuing to back the south Vietnamese.
