The front lawn of my high school was so huge, you could stand on the opposite side of a far off oak tree and no one from the building could see you. Or just walk off school grounds into the surrounding neighborhood.

I always had a rifle also. And a handgun under the seat.

My Dad has told me about them. They weren’t around when I was in school.
I remember people walking through Century Plaza (Indoor Mall) smoking though.

Of course, it was the late 70’s, back when anything goes. The parade ground in our suburban Chas SC HS was about 2 acres. Didn’t smoke cigarettes, but fatties on the regular. Back when you needed a whole joint to get high.
And very few guys drove trucks back then. Why would you when real American muscle cars were everywhere. Hell I knew people that slapped a dual quad, heads and a cam in grandpas old Galaxie 500. Knew guys with a 427 Nova, 440 6packs, Goats, you name it. Phuck a truck.

Yes, in HS in 1966-1970, there was an area called “The Pit” where the smokers gathered and lit them up. Kids 15 years old were puffing away.
I tried a few cigs but smoking was not for me. Never cared for the lingering cig taste, the smoke itself, and how it nauseated me. A few and I was done. Now beer was totally different. That stuff matched up great with me.

Right next to the gym in the parking lot at my high school. Didn’t smoke at that time, but hung out there because of sluts.

Down behind the Ag shop/HomeEc building across from the little mom & pop that sold single cigs.
