If they have a plan and can surround you the number would be fairly low. That's also assuming you take their fear out of the scenario also

In a steady stream. As in not just in the middle of a hoard of them. You're adrenaline is going to kick in which will allow you to go for a while and I imagine most 8 year olds are going to get knocked out or run away after one solid hit.

that was the kicker. these kids have no fear.
realistically, the second you blast the shite out of the first kid or two, the others are going to be to busy shitting in their pants instead of fighting

It all depends on the situation. Are we talking about random 8 yr olds picked to fight an adult or do these 8 yr olds have skills & there is actually a plan in place? All it takes is one strike to the balls then 3 or 4 of them can jump on the adult & start punching in the face & kidneys. If you let a herd of them out all at once the adult will only be able to handle so many until the others start to wear the adult out.

In that case I'd go 8ish. Drop 4 or 5 before you get engulfed by them. I think I'd manage to choke out a few once I'm on the ground and survival instinct kicks in

Only physical way they can hurt you is by biting or by grabbing on using weight to tire you. I think if you don't panic and take your time that an adult male could wreck a good many at once.

Have an upvote, but only for comedic relief, not any basis in fact. If it is in waves of 10 or more at a time, I doubt many people could handle more than 25-30. I'm assuming "waves" in this case means there will ALWAYS be 10 fighting at once. Waves like you see in video games where it is 10 to start and you won't encounter any new ones until all 10 have been eliminated is a different story.
The more I think about it, the more this idea reminds me of the zombie levels on Call of Duty games. Individually they're like shooting fish in a barrel, but 20-30 of them makes it damn near impossible without some sort of manipulation.

Exactly, as sad as it sounds people on here are totally overestimating the strength of 8 yr olds. Like I said earlier I think the only limitation I would have would be cardio because after a few hundy it would get exhausting.

In the scenario where you are in an open space, they have no fear, and a plan to kill you, you arent getting anywhere near triple digit numbers. You will most certainly be closer to zero than closer to 100.

You back up against a wall, that way they can only attack from the back and sides. Before long you'll have a barrier of bodies around you to help fend off the new ones.

8 year olds aren't that strong. The ones that bite would be a motherfricker. If it was a fight or die situation I'd gouge eyeballs and punch throats. I would grab one by the feet and windmill that fricker into all the other kids trying to kill me. I think the windmill tactic would work for a while until they overcame you.
