And slut shaming is probably just a result of scarcity of resources. The same reason women can bang a large number of dudes easily while dudes have to work hard to get their numbers up.

I'm gonna say if they did, it was to reduce chances of body lice and not for vanity reasons.
I would guess women didn't shave their legs either, why would they? They are always covered up.
